We have always claimed that Walt Disney World, while as entertaining as it can be, is also very educational. Learning can always be fun, especially at Walt Disney World. However, that last thing I expected to see there was cranberries. How yummy they looked too. Just in time to get you in the mood for Thanksgiving. Now, we live in a rural community where farming is nothing new to us. We are one of the largest cotton producing counties in the state. Georgia, also, produces the largest percentage of peanuts to the United States and our county is a substantial contributor to that figure. So, we love our farming. Surprisingly, our recent trip to Epcot enlightened our family to cranberry farming, which takes place in Massachusetts. We observed and listened to a live demonstration presented by cranberry farmers. Mr. Bob explained The Ocean Spray cranberries are grown as a farming co-op. The farmers, no mistaking their accents, travelled from their homes and farms to educate us on their techniques. He went through the complete process from beginning to end with us. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing, touching and seeing for ourselves how this farming operation works. Aside from a trip to a cranberry farm, it was the next best thing. Thank you farmers for all you do to provide us with wholesome food!
